RCR Academy

The Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Academy at The New School supports our colleges and schools in promoting the responsible conduct of research on campus. In collaboration with faculty and staff from a variety of disciplines, offices, departments, labs, centers, and institutes at The New School, the RCR Academy provides centralized resources, events, and programming for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral and early-career faculty researchers.

The RCR Academy works to enrich our research community through embracing RCR/ethics as an integral part of high quality research - instead of just responding to regulations and requirements - and shiftng the focus of RCR/ethics education from “reactionary” approaches (ethics catastrophes, research misconduct, harassment) to “exemplary” services (cultivating behaviors and standards that emphasize honesty, accuracy, objectivity, efficiency, and care-focused interpersonal relationships among researchers and coworkers). The Research Integrity section in the Provost's Office of Research Suppot (ORS) coordinates the RCR Academy.
